Both Cade Cunningham and Isaiah Stewart have been upgraded to questionable for the Pistons\u2019 final home game of the season\u00a0tonight against the\u00a0Bucks.\u00a0<\/p>\n
They were both listed as doubtful for the\u00a0previous\u00a0game, so this is a great sign, and\u00a0somewhat surprising\u00a0given that\u00a0both of them\u00a0were expected to miss the rest of the regular season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It would be even more of a surprise if they\u00a0actually played\u00a0tonight against the Bucks, but the upgrade in status does put the best-case scenario in play.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cunningham and Stewart have missed\u00a0significant\u00a0time,\u00a0and it would obviously be great if they could return before the regular season is over to start\u00a0getting back in game shape.<\/p>\n
Stewart has been dealing with a calf injury that has limited his ability to stay in shape, though this is less of a concern than what Cunningham is dealing with.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I\u2019m\u00a0not a doctor, but breathing is important (no, really, I swear\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0not a doctor!), and anything that might affect that is not going to be easy to deal with. It may take a couple of weeks before Cunningham is feeling comfortable\u00a0and able to play at 100 percent.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Detroit obviously needs to ease both players back\u00a0in,\u00a0and it would be ideal if they could get a game or two under their belts before the playoffs, but the schedule is not doing them any favors.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n The Detroit Pistons are hitting the road in the home stretch\u00a0<\/p>\n Tonight\u2019s game against the Bucks is the final home game of the season, and then the Pistons will hit the road to play the Hornets and finish the season in Indiana.\u00a0<\/p>\n Luckily, these\u00a0aren\u2019t\u00a0cross-country flights or\u00a0anything,\u00a0and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0not like NBA players are suffering in steerage like the rest of us, but I do wonder if the Pistons will be comfortable with Cunningham traveling.\u00a0<\/p>\n Detroit doesn’t\u00a0need to win any of these games, so the Pistons\u00a0aren\u2019t\u00a0going to rush either of these players\u00a0back,\u00a0and my guess is that they will error on the side of caution in any decisions about whether they appear in the final two road games.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Pistons will have to adjust on the fly\u00a0<\/p>\n
