As of the final week of the 2025-2026 NBA regular season, the Philadelphia 76ers have access to the Houston Rockets<\/a>\u2018 No. 23 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.<\/p>\n

Whether they will keep the selection or move it for a \u201cwin-now\u201d move will remain unclear until the offseason.<\/p>\n

For now, it\u2019s assumed the Sixers will keep the pick and make a selection with it in a few months. A post-NCAA Tournament mock draft from Bleacher Report recently predicted the Sixers could select Christian Anderson out of Texas Tech with the pick.<\/p>\n

Anderson was compared to Darius Garland of the Los Angeles Clippers<\/a> in the mock draft.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn outstanding sophomore year for Christian Anderson ended on a poor note. He struggled to create opportunities for himself against Alabama\u2019s defense, and if there is concern with Anderson, it\u2019s that he lacks the frame and burst to get to the rim or draw fouls.<\/p>\n

However, he\u2019s one of the top shooting prospects in this draft, and he\u2019s developed into a savvy playmaker with an admirable mindset and passing skill.\u201d via BR<\/p>\n

The Sixers can never have enough shooters. In fact, they need more on their roster.<\/p>\n

Anderson would be entering the draft as a 20-year-old out of Texas Tech. He was recently named First-team All-Big 12 and Third-team All-American. Anderson was also honored with the Big 12 Most Improved Player award in 2026.<\/p>\n

During his freshman season, Anderson appeared in 35 games (7 starts). The young guard shot 42.9% from the field, scoring 10.6 points per game. He also posted averages of 3.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.2 steals.<\/p>\n

This year, Anderson started all 33 games he played. The sophomore shot 47.2% from the field and 41.5% from deep, averaging 18.5 points per game. He also averaged 7.4 assists per game, along with 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals.<\/p>\n

Daryl Morey has garnered a lot of criticism throughout his time as the Sixers\u2019 President of Basketball Operations. A lot of that has to do with his decisions in the trade market.<\/p>\n

When it comes to drafting, that\u2019s been the Sixers\u2019 strong suit. Since 2020, Morey has selected and kept four players in the first round.<\/p>\n

The 2020 selection was Tyrese Maxey. He is a two-time All-Star on a max deal and a clear face of the Sixers\u2019 franchise.<\/p>\n

In 2021, Morey picked up Jaden Springer with the 28th pick. That turned out to be a flop, as the Sixers cut ties with him just a few years later.<\/p>\n

The 2024 selection was Jared McCain out of Duke. Despite the pick looking like a home run last year, the Sixers traded McCain back in February. That decision is heavily debated amongst Sixers fans. All trade opinions aside, it was a successful pick.<\/p>\n

VJ Edgecombe was the most recent pickup for the Sixers. The former Baylor standout has been as good as advertised so far, starting in 72 games during his rookie season.<\/p>\n
