Brooklyn Nets are expected to show interest in Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer as his future with the Milwaukee Bucks remains uncertain.<\/p>\n

A surprise team could enter the race for Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/a> this offseason, as his future continues to draw attention around the NBA.<\/p>\n

The Brooklyn Nets<\/a> recently picked up a 96-90<\/a> win over the Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> at Barclays Center, but Antetokounmpo did not play in that game. His status also remains uncertain for the next meeting between the two teams in Milwaukee.<\/p>\n

However, the bigger story may be what happens in the summer.<\/p>\n

“They’ll [Nets] make calls,” a source told The New York Post’s Brian Lewis<\/a>. “They’ve made calls in the past.”<\/p>\n

The Nets have quietly stayed ready for a move like this. Since 2023, the front office led by Sean Marks has kept flexibility, holding onto draft picks and assets that could be used in a major trade.<\/p>\n

Antetokounmpo’s situation is one to watch closely. He will be eligible to sign a four-year $275 million extension in October. If he waits, he could become a free agent after the 2026-27 season. That timeline could also push Milwaukee to explore trade options before then.<\/p>\n

Even with all the noise, Antetokounmpo continues to perform at a high level.<\/p>\n

In 36 games this season, he is averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. He is also shooting 62.4 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three.<\/p>\n
