DETROIT \u2013 Detroit Pistons star Cade Cunningham is expected to return to the court after missing three weeks with a lung injury, according to a report.<\/p>\n
Cunningham has been sidelined since March 17, when he played just five minutes against the Washington Wizards. The Pistons went 8-2 in the following 10 games without Cunningham to lock up the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.<\/p>\n
But they need their superstar back in the lineup if they want to be a real threat in the playoffs.<\/p>\n
Cunningham is expected to return Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, according to ESPN\u2019s Vincent Goodwill. It\u2019s the last home game of the regular season, with the Pistons set to visit Charlotte on Friday and Indiana on Sunday before the postseason.<\/p>\n
Cunningham, 24, was in the MVP discussion before his injury. He\u2019s averaging 24.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 9.9 assists this season while shooting 46.1% from the floor, 34.6% from three, and 81.4% from the free-throw line.<\/p>\n
The Pistons will have home court advantage in a playoff series for the first time in 18 years. They won\u2019t know their first-round opponent until the conclusion of the play-in tournament, but it could be the Hawks, Raptors, 76ers, Magic, Hornets, or Heat.<\/p>\n
