Isaiah Stewart of the Detroit Pistons would be “suspended for the rest of the season” in a certain case, a former NBA player says.<\/p>\n

Before the Detroit Pistons take on the Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> on Wednesday, April 8, the team is waiting patiently to see who will be available.<\/p>\n

Two key names were upgraded for the Pistons on Wednesday. Cade Cunningham landed the questionable label on Tuesday night. All signs are pointing to the two-time All-Star making his anticipated return on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

As for Isaiah Stewart, he\u2019s in a similar boat. The veteran center was questionable on Tuesday. During the Pistons\u2019 morning shootaround in Michigan, Stewart was a part of the action.<\/p>\n

If all goes right, Stewart could be back on the court to pick up some minutes before the playoffs get here. Hours before the action, the veteran center spoke on his setback.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m feeling good now,\u201d Stewart told reporters on Wednesday morning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat time allowed me to shut it down and allowed me to feel better. It allowed me to feel like myself. Obviously, it was tough for me because I was trying to chase that 65-game rule to qualify for an award, but at the end of the day, you have to not be selfish. I want to be there for my teammates come playoffs. I\u2019m able to play, and I\u2019m available, which is the most important thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Similar to Cade Cunningham, Stewart felt he was in the running for an accolade. Despite being a bench player, Stewart established himself as one of the best defenders in the NBA<\/a>. He wants to win Defensive Player of the Year, but, being under 65 games played, it\u2019s not possible.<\/p>\n

The veteran center hasn\u2019t suited up since the Pistons\u2019 March 13 action against the Memphis Grizzlies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At the time, Stewart checked in for 20 minutes. He shot 5-10 from the field, scoring 10 points. The veteran also came down with four rebounds, while blocking one shot.<\/p>\n

Stewart was in the midst of a seven-game stretch. He had recently wrapped up a seven-game absence due to a league-issued suspension.<\/p>\n

This season, Stewart has played 55 games. Seeing the court for 23.1 minutes per game, Stewart has averaged 10.0 points per game (shooting 54.1% from the field and 33.3% from three). He was also averaging 5.1 rebounds per game and blocking 1.6 shots per game.<\/p>\n

If Stewart doesn\u2019t get the nod to make his return on Wednesday night, his next chance would come on Friday, April 10, against the Memphis Grizzlies.<\/p>\n
