It’s inevitable for the Washington Wizards to make some moves this offseason, especially with the newfound hope that the team can make a push for the playoffs behind the new superstar duo of Trae Young and Anthony Davis.<\/p>\n

Several young players on the roster have solified there spot on the team, but there are also multiple players who could be on the move.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to the offseason, these four players could be on the outside looking in<\/a>.<\/p>\n

G D’Angelo Russell<\/p>\n

D’Angelo Russell found himself as part of the blockbuster trade between the Dallas Mavericks and Washington ahead of the NBA trade deadline.<\/p>\n

The former No. 2 overall pick joined Davis on his new squad, but after weeks of deciding if a buyout would be best or not, the playmaker stayed put in D.C.<\/p>\n

Despite that, Russell has yet to suit up for the Wizards, and that alone, considering how shorthanded the team has been over the last couple of months, suggests that the Ohio State product won’t be sticking around beyond this season.<\/p>\n

F Justin Champagnie<\/p>\n

Justin Champagnie carved a solid role for himself in Washington after bouncing around the league over the last few seasons.<\/p>\n

The former undrafted prospect has shown flashes during his time in the DMV, but he hasn’t strung together enough consistent performances to solidify himself a roster spot moving forward.<\/p>\n

In a frontcourt rotation that’s getting more crowded by the second<\/a>, mixed with the potential addition of another top prospect this offseason, it won’t be a shock to see Champagnie involved in an offseason trade.<\/p>\n

G Jaden Hardy<\/p>\n

Jaden Hardy is another addition that joined the Wizards as part of the AD trade.<\/p>\n

The former G-League Ignite standout used limited opportunities to showcase his potential when given the chance, but considering the abundance of talent in the backcourt, there’s no real pathway to minutes for the guard.<\/p>\n

Considering his $6 million cap hit, if Washington deems he’s not part of the team’s plans, expect a trade to come into fruition or even the possibility of the playmaker being bought out.<\/p>\n

F Cam Whitmore<\/p>\n

Cam Whitmore’s brief stint with his new squad offered several ups and downs in year one.<\/p>\n

Before being ruled out for the season with a blood clot issue, the former first-round pick showcased just how impactful he can be as a scorer when the ball is in his hands.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the athletic forward also showcased some of the same concerns that stunted his development with the Houston Rockets.<\/p>\n
