The San Antonio Spurs<\/a> have announced Stephon Castle<\/a>\u2018s injury status for Friday\u2019s game against the Dallas Mavericks<\/a>. The Spurs are set to host the Mavericks at the Frost Bank Center for their penultimate game of the regular season.<\/p>\n One of the most surprising teams of the season is the Spurs. Not a lot of people predicted them to win 60 games in Victor Wembanyama<\/a>\u2018s third year. Coach Mitch Johnson has done a wonderful job getting the best out of each of his players.<\/p>\n Castle was also a surprise breakout player, averaging<\/a> 16.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Castle was listed as questionable because of left foot soreness. He is in danger of missing his second game in a row.<\/p>\n The second-year guard was on the sidelines in San Antonio\u2019s 112-101 win over the Portland Trail Blazers<\/a> on Wednesday. He was diagnosed with right knee soreness, but he was able to participate in shootaround, as reported by ESPN<\/a>.<\/p>\n Castle is expected to be re-evaluated before tip-off. He could get upgraded to available or downgraded to out. He was joined by Wembanyama, David Jones Garcia<\/a>, Harrison Ingram<\/a> and Emanuel Miller<\/a>.<\/p>\n Wemby is listed as questionable with a left rib contusion. He is required to play for at least 20 minutes on Friday against the Mavericks or on Sunday against the Denver Nuggets<\/a>. He is one game shy of being eligible for awards this season.<\/p>\n Ingram is also questionable, but he\u2019s not dealing with an injury. He\u2019s on a two-way contract, which limits his appearances for the Spurs.
