Since the transfer portal opened on Tuesday, April 7, seven Penn State basketball players \u00a0have decided to test the market.<\/p>\n
It was first Melih Tunca.<\/a> Then Freddie Dilione V., Mason Blackwood, Eli Rice, Kayden Mingo, Dominick Stewart, and finally Justin Houser.<\/p>\n More than 2,900 players, nationwide, have already entered the portal. This represents close to 2\/3 of all Division 1 men\u2019s players.<\/p>\n Also, keep in mind that just because a player enters the portal doesn\u2019t mean they will definitely go to another team. He may just be testing the market for their value. Players and their agents can\u2019t talk to other teams unless they\u2019re in the portal.<\/p>\n The existing Nittany Lions from 2025-26 are Ivan Juric, Tibor Mirtic, Reggie Grodin, Sasa Ciani and Chris Lotito.<\/p>\n The following players have already signed to be in Penn State for the 2026-2027 season: Jamison White,<\/a> Francois Wibaut<\/a> and Roko Prkacin.<\/a><\/p>\n Grant Spacciapolli has verbally committed<\/a> to Penn State.<\/p>\n So as of now, assuming no more Penn State players enter the portal\u2014 which closes April 21\u2013 there is a senior, four sophomores and four freshmen on next year\u2019s roster. Two of the freshmen, Wibaut and Prkacin, are 21 and 23 years-old, respectively, coming from overseas.<\/p>\n With at least 2,900 players in the market to evaluate, general manager Scott Pera,<\/a> roster consultant Calvin Booth,<\/a>\u00a0head coach Mike Rhoades<\/a> and his staff need to hit a home run to bring in some experienced, highly-talented players.<\/p>\n After all, the big knock against last year\u2019s team was how young and inexperienced they were.<\/p>\n 15 players is the max for a NCAA, Division 1 men\u2019s basketball team.
