The Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0like each other, a fact that was reinforced in another heated game last night.<\/p>\n

It started in some unlikely places, with both Duncan Robinson and George Blaha getting spicy early in the game. Robinson got into a shoving match with Brandon Miller after the latter hung on the rim and then\u00a0intentionally dropped on Robinson\u2019s head.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was a good move for Robinson, who was roasted for not getting involved in the last fight the Pistons had with the Hornets.\u00a0 He was looking to re-establish his street cred (I’m joking).<\/p>\n

Pistons announcer George Blaha\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0hold back afterwards, saying Charlotte was playing like a Play-In team,\u00a0making reference\u00a0to the fact that they needed a win at home to\u00a0keep their slim chances for the 6th\u00a0seed alive. The Hornets will be the 9th\u00a0or 10th\u00a0seed and will need to win two games to get another shot at Detroit.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

I love when Blaha, who is in his 50th\u00a0season in Detroit, gets fired up, as\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0an extension of the Pistons\u2019 ethos from the booth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

LaMelo Ball got involved as well, making a gun gesture and having some choice words for Isaiah Stewart after Melo made one of his weird 3-point shots, but Beef Stew did\u00a0a good job\u00a0to keep\u00a0his\u00a0cool last night. The Hornets were clearly trying to rile him up, but it\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But the Pistons sent the final message at the end of the\u00a0game,\u00a0and it was clear.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Pistons\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0like or respect the Hornets\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Pistons walked off the court last night without shaking hands with the Hornets, which I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0remember seeing since Detroit did it to Jordan\u2019s Bulls after losing in the playoffs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u00a0appeared to be\u00a0Jalen Duren who talked his\u00a0teammates\u00a0and\u00a0coach\u00a0into avoiding the Hornets, and why not?\u00a0<\/p>\n

These two teams\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0like each other. The Hornets are brash trash talkers and employ a scumbag in Miles Bridges who rarely\u00a0stops\u00a0yapping. They remind me of last year\u2019s Pacers team, who I\u00a0couldn\u2019t\u00a0stand playing against, as Tyrese Haliburton NEVER stops\u00a0talking.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Pistons ignored it,\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0rise to the bait and took care of their business without\u00a0incident, but they sent a loud message in the process.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I think Detroit\u00a0was tired of hearing about how the Hornets are a \u201cnightmare\u201d matchup for them.\u00a0I think the Pistons\u00a0are sick of being disrespected by the notion that their season is somehow a fluke, even as they close in on 60 wins.\u00a0<\/p>\n
