Cameron Payne, New York Knicks<\/p>\n
Ahead of their Friday night matchup on the road in Indiana, the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> made a roster move. They cut ties with the veteran guard, Cam Payne.<\/p>\n Although Payne was expected to play a minor role in the team\u2019s upcoming postseason, the veteran guard suffered a setback, which would prevent him from playing in any potential Play-In Tournament game next week.<\/p>\n While the move is unfortunate, it was necessary for the Sixers. (Photo by Tim Nwachukwu\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n When the Sixers needed a veteran backup guard to add in order to replace Patrick Beverley in 2023-2024, the Sixers landed Cam Payne.<\/p>\n At the time, Payne checked in for 31 games, averaging 9.3 points and 3.1 assists, while shooting 38.2% from three.<\/p>\n In the playoffs, Payne came off the bench for five games and knocked down 44.4% of his shots from three, producing 5.6 points per game.<\/p>\n Since his first stint in Philly, Payne played one season for the New York Knicks<\/a>. He had a preseason run with the Indiana Pacers back in the fall, and went overseas to play for Paritzan Mozzart Bet in Serbia back in December before the Sixers came calling.<\/p>\n Payne played in 22 games for the Sixers when he returned for his second stint this year. He shot 33.0% from three and averaged 7.4 points per game in 22 outings.<\/p>\n What\u2019s Next For The 76ers? (Photo by Emilee Chinn\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n According to an official announcement, the Sixers signed Dalen Terry to a standard NBA<\/a> contract after cutting Payne on April 10.<\/p>\n Terry is a former first-round pick (18th overall) for the Chicago Bulls<\/a>. After spending four seasons with the Bulls, Terry was traded to the New York Knicks. The Knicks flipped Terry over to the New Orleans Pelicans, who later waived him.<\/p>\n Back in February, the Sixers signed Terry to a two-way contract.
