Welcome to another edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a joint production between\u00a0The Assembly Call<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Inside the Hall<\/a>, where we highlight the five most essential IU sports stories of the past week. 6-Banner Sunday is written by Ari Shifron.<\/p>\n The roster for next season is in the very early stages of taking shape. Whether it\u2019s outgoing or incoming players, some clarity emerged this week.<\/p>\n Additionally, Michigan won the national championship to end the Big Ten\u2019s title drought and spring football continues. As usual, we will conclude with a look at the rest of the Hoosier sports in action, which was led by softball taking a series from arch-rival Purdue.<\/p>\n Here is what is in this week\u2019s edition:<\/p>\n \u2022 Transfer portal targets emerge for IU basketball Banner #1 \u2013 Transfer portal targets emerge for IU basketball<\/p>\n While IU has not added anyone from the transfer portal, this weekend features campus visits as the Hoosiers try to lock down several targets. The biggest of these by far is\u00a0Notre Dame\u2019s Markus Burton<\/a>, who will be in Bloomington\u00a0today for a visit<\/a>.<\/p>\n Houston was thought to be Indiana\u2019s biggest competition for Burton. However, the Cougars took a commitment\u00a0from a top-level point guard<\/a>\u00a0on Saturday, giving IU a potential clear runway to land their top target.<\/p>\n Besides this, a couple of other prospects were\u00a0in Bloomington<\/a>\u00a0this weekend including\u00a0Duke\u2019s Darren Harris<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Georgia Tech\u2019s Jaeden Mustaf<\/a>. Other potential targets are Tulane\u2019s\u00a0Rowan Brumbaugh<\/a> and Alabama\u2019s\u00a0Aiden Sherrell<\/a>, amongst others.<\/p>\n Banner #2 \u2013 IU basketball loses several more players to the transfer portal<\/p>\n IU had seven players eligible to return, but five have entered the transfer portal. Trent Sisley has confirmed his return for next season. <\/p>\n Nick Dorn<\/a>,\u00a0Jasai Miles<\/a>,\u00a0Aleksa Ristic<\/a>,\u00a0Jason Drake<\/a>, and\u00a0Josh Harris<\/a>\u00a0all entered the transfer portal. <\/p>\n Joining Sisley and possibly Andrej Acimovic on the 2026-2027 roster are three incoming freshmen. These players are Vaughn Karvala, Trevor Manhertz and Prince-Alexander Moody.<\/p>\n Banner #3 \u2013 Michigan wins national championship to end Big Ten drought<\/p>\n The Big Ten continued its run of national title wins. This is because Michigan and former IU manager Dusty May\u00a0ended the conference\u2019s long national title drought<\/a>\u00a0in men\u2019s basketball by defeating UConn to cut down the nets in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n In women\u2019s basketball,\u00a0UCLA dominated South Carolina<\/a>\u00a0for the championship. This ended a similar title drought for the league.<\/p>\n Banner #4 \u2013 Spring practice continues for IU football<\/p>\n Spring football continues<\/a>\u00a0for IU. The Hoosiers are back on the field practicing now and are looking to defend their national championship. Several players and coach Curt Cignetti\u00a0spoke with the media<\/a>\u00a0after practice\u00a0this week<\/a>.<\/p>\n Banner #5 \u2013 Back Home Network shows<\/p>\n The Back Home Network has many shows. As a result, it was on air\u00a0many times this week<\/a>\u00a0with programming.<\/p>\n Banner #6: Hoosier Roundup<\/p>\n \u2022 Softball took\u00a0a series<\/a>\u00a0from arch-rival\u00a0Purdue this weekend<\/a>.
