Memphis Grizzlies<\/a> “star” guard Ja Morant has been an afterthought this season after playing in just 20 games.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But, he recently popped up on a list of the league’s most overrated players.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ja Morant makes list of NBA’s most overrated players\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey ranked Morant<\/a> as the No. 8 most overrated player in the NBA this season, arguing that Morant’s perceived star power isn’t backed up by on-court production or availability.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Another one who’s lost plenty of support already, Ja Morant’s 2025-26 was worse than you realize,” Bailey wrote.<\/p>\n

“He’s still seen by many as a ‘star,’ despite a ridiculous lack of availability (79 games over the last three years), hilariously bad scoring efficiency and a near-non-existent jumper.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s difficult to disagree with anything Bailey wrote. Morant has effectively tanked his own stock over the past few years through a combination of plateauing play, off-court issues and consistent unavailability.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At this point, it’s fair to wonder<\/a> if we’ve already seen Morant play his last game in a Grizzlies uniform, as the team may look to try to trade him over the offseason. Doing so could prove difficult, however. Morant has two years and over $86 million remaining on his current contract.\u00a0<\/p>\n
