The Kentucky Wildcats<\/a> basketball team recently lost guard Collin Chandler to BYU through the transfer portal. Now, Mark Pope might be ready to take one of their best players in return in point guard Rob Wright<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wright entered the portal after one season at BYU, having played at Baylor the year before that. Per Jeff Goodman<\/a> of The Field of 68, Kentucky is the favorite, at the moment, to land the talented guard. He also also set to visit Lexington on Monday.<\/p>\n

A former top 25 recruit, Wright shined as a freshman at Baylor. He averaged over 11 points and 4 assists before transferring to BYU. There, he was even better, posting averages of 18.1 points and 4.6 assists per contest while shooting 41% from three-point range.<\/p>\n

Landing Wright would be a massive win for Kentucky, and for Pope, who is under fire after a disastrous season. Wright can score in bunches, and is a terrific passer as well. We will continue to monitor this story.<\/p>\n
