Anthony Davis was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Washington Wizards at February\u2019s trade deadline.<\/a> The deal was made during Davis\u2019 rehab from a left-hand injury that required surgery.<\/p>\n This meant that Anthony Davis never had an introductory press conference. Because he was never available to the Wizards this season, he never spoke with the press for postgame interviews either.<\/p>\n On Monday, following the end of the Wizards\u2019 2025-26 season, Anthony Davis finally addressed the media for the first time as a member of the franchise.<\/p>\n Anthony Davis Gives High Praise to Wizards\u2019 Long-Term Goals<\/p>\n In Anthony Davis\u2019 first interview as a Washington Wizard, he laid out what he expects from the franchise moving forward.<\/p>\n \u201cThey know I want to win. I\u2019m sure they want to win as well. Nobody wants to lose. I think having those conversations and us being on the same page, seeing the direction of the team,\u201d Davis said, according to Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports Network.<\/a> \u201cThe organization is a very good organization. Ted [Leonsis] is a great owner, the coaching staff and the players, their development. Obviously, the city is phenomenal.\u201d<\/p>\n The new Wizards superstar also explained that he is excited to see what\u2019s to come with the organization.<\/p>\n \u201cComing here, they do things where I don\u2019t want to give away their secrets because I haven\u2019t seen it anywhere else, to be honest. I\u2019m not gonna lie. I feel like they\u2019re all my children. Some of these guys were four and five years old my rookie year, which is crazy. Now I see how [LeBron James] feels,\u201d Davis said.<\/p>\n Players like Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington, Kyshawn George, and others who are 22 years old or younger have a lot of upside for this Wizards team.<\/p>\n \u201cI would love to see how it feels to play a game in a Wizards uniform,\u201d the former NBA<\/a> champion said to conclude the conference.<\/p>\n The 2025-26 season is now in the past. This means that Anthony Davis\u2019 contract has one year remaining with a $62.78 million player option for 2027-28.<\/a> He\u2019s listed as the highest-paid player<\/a> on the Wizards\u2019 roster.
