The time has come for the Golden State Warriors<\/a>. Do or die. Sink or swim. Win or go home.\u00a0<\/p>\n A long and incredibly turbulent 2025-26 regular season has come to an end and the play-in tournament is on tap once again. For the fourth time in six years, the Warriors find themselves in the qualifying round hoping to punch their ticket in the playoffs.\u00a0<\/p>\n They\u2019ll take on an equally-hungry Los Angeles Clippers<\/a> tonight in a single-elimination contest at the Intuit Dome.\u00a0<\/p>\n GettyINGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA \u2013 APRIL 12: Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors passes against Darius Garland #10 and John Collins #20 of the Los Angeles Clippers during the first half of an NBA<\/a> game at Intuit Dome on April 12, 2026 in Inglewood, California.<\/p>\n Both teams had whacky regular seasons \u2014 the Warriors for their injuries and brutally off-kilter stretches, and the Clippers for somehow finishing two games above a .500 record after starting the season 6-21.<\/p>\n Tonight, a pair of 2010s titans<\/a> will meet again.\u00a0<\/p>\n Steph Curry<\/a> and Kawhi Leonard<\/a> will meet in a postseason game for the first time since Golden State\u2019s ill-fated 2019 NBA Finals loss to Leonard\u2019s Toronto Raptors<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Win and you go on to play the next play-in game.\u00a0<\/p>\n Loose and you go on to plan a summer vacation.\u00a0<\/p>\n Let\u2019s see what happens tonight.\u00a0<\/p>\n Golden State Warriors Roll Out Tonight\u2019s Starting Five<\/p>\n The Warriors got healthier as the season reached its finale, but their situation is still far from convincing.\u00a0<\/p>\n Golden State saw injuries to Curry, who missed 27 consecutive games due to runner\u2019s knee; Kristaps Porzingis<\/a>, who arrived in the Bay from Atlanta somewhat banged up; and Al Horford<\/a>, who just recently returned after a long absence due to a soleus strain in his calf. The Warriors are still without Quinten Post<\/a>, who hasn\u2019t played this month.<\/p>\n Tonight, this is the first five head coach Steve Kerr will deploy:<\/p>\n Stars Will Still Be Limited to Soft Minutes Restriction<\/p>\n Brutal, yes, but that\u2019s what the Warriors have decided. Porzingis, Horford and, yes, even Curry will all be on some sort of minutes restriction.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThis is all about health,\u201d Kerr said earlier this week of the decision to pull back the stars\u2019 minutes against the Clippers, \u201cand so you have to be mindful of health as you play these games. You have to be mindful of how many minutes can a guy play and be expected to be effective. So that\u2019s really what we\u2019re facing.\u201d<\/p>\n Understandably, fans won\u2019t be too pleased seeing Curry\u2019s minutes limited in what could be the final game of the season. But the two-time MVP is 38 years old with a million miles on his legs. The Warriors want to ensure he is healthy and available for beyond just this game or this season.<\/p>\n Curry has progressively bumped up his minutes load in the four games he\u2019s played since returning from runner\u2019s knee. In Golden State\u2019s regular season finale, Curry logged 29 minutes. Tonight, he could comfortably cross the 30-minute mark. The Warriors have announced Curry \u2014 as well as Porzingis and Horford \u2014 will play fewer than 40 minutes.<\/p>\n A Dubs loss tonight would be a bummer, but not entirely unexpected.
