According to The Athletic\u2019s Josh Robbins, the Wizards\u2019 front office believes Keefe now deserves the chance to coach a more competitive roster as expectations shift toward winning.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor two-plus years, Brian Keefe has coached the Washington Wizards through the early stages of a difficult rebuilding process in which team officials prioritized keeping a protected first-round pick, maximizing their draft lottery odds and developing a large number of young players,\u201d Robbins reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, Keefe will have the opportunity to show what he can do when the franchise places a much higher emphasis on winning games.\u201d<\/p>\n

ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel also reported that Keefe\u2019s job status has remained stable despite the team\u2019s struggles<\/a>, citing internal support from both players and management.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnother coach in a rebuilding situation with his current organization is Brian Keefe with the Washington Wizards,\u201d Siegel wrote. \u201cThe last two seasons have been grueling for Keefe and this organization, as they continue to navigate their rebuild with patience and precision.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSources say the Wizards’ leadership has been working with Keefe all season, and there is no reason at this very moment to believe that his job is in jeopardy.\u201d<\/p>\n
