Coach Steve Kerr is not new<\/a> to greatness. He was part of the legendary Chicago Bulls<\/a> roster led by Michael Jordan and a stacked San Antonio Spurs<\/a> squad centered around Tim Duncan. After that, he spent years on the broadcasting booth seeing great talents rise to stardom. But, it was apparently not until the Golden State Warriors<\/a> faced the Los Angeles Clippers<\/a> that he saw Stephen Curry have one of the most greatest performances.<\/p>\n

Kerr hails Curry’s NBA Play-In Performance as one of the greats<\/p>\n

It was not hard to see that Stephen Curry was a menace<\/a> against the Clippers. Coach Steve Kerr put him on the court for 36 minutes despite having suffered runner’s knee before the start of the NBA Play-In Tournament. All of those seconds were backed by the Warriors coach’s trust and it was paid handsomely by the aging superstar.<\/p>\n

Coach Kerr could only gush at what Curry did despite injuries and aging in the NBA Play-In Tournament, via Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic.<\/a><\/p>\n

“With all the wins we\u2019ve ever had here, with a lot more at stake \u2014 this is right up there. Just because of where we are and our age \u2026 The decline of our performance this year. The injuries. It was just a beautiful display of competitive will. For one night, you know, we\u2019re us. We\u2019re champions again. And I know that that may sound crazy to everybody out there. It\u2019s a Play-In game. I don\u2019t care. It\u2019s just absolutely beautiful to watch,” the Warriors head coach declared.<\/p>\n

Curry scored 35 points while knocking down 52.17% of his 23 shots from the field. A large bulk of his scoring was due to him knocking down seven of his 12 three-point attempts. More than that, he also kept the Warriors offense running by dishing out four assists. To top it all off, he also grabbed a steal to prevent the Clippers from gaining momentum.<\/p>\n

Coach Kerr loved the performance he saw from Curry in all levels and his post-game statement showed it.<\/p>\n

“This is why Steph came back. So everybody out there who thought Steph should have taken the rest of the year off \u2026This is what he does. This is who he is. If he can compete, he\u2019s going to compete. And it was just incredible to watch,\u201d Kerr added.<\/p>\n

Curry was the main reason why the Warriors kept pushing at the end of the season. Now, all of that hard work will not be in vain because their superstar is back and ready to decimate the Phoenix Suns<\/a> next in the NBA Play-In Tournament.<\/p>\n
