NEW YORK — Brooklyn Nets<\/a> center Day’Ron Sharpe<\/a> once again had another good season as the backup center to starter Nic Claxton despite the fact that the Nets finished with a losing record. Sharpe should be back with Brooklyn next season as he has a team option for the 2026-27 season worth $6.25 million<\/a> and it seems like the fanbase recognizes how valuable Sharpe’s deal is.<\/p>\n In a poll conducted by Bleacher Report<\/a>, 43% of respondents chose Sharpe as the player with the best contract on the team, followed by rookie guard Egor Demin with 26% of the vote. Sharpe is coming off a 2025-26 NBA season in which he averaged 8.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steal per game while shooting 60.1% from the field in just 18.7 minutes played per contest.<\/p>\n “Having cheapo team options on both Day’Ron Sharpe and Noah Clowney next year is a big deal for Brooklyn. The same goes for Ziaire Williams, though the absence of a distinct career arc cost him,” Dan Favale wrote for Bleacher Report when giving his opinion on the polling results. “Sharpe winning with 43 percent of votes is somewhat stunning. It isn’t that he’s\u00a0not\u00a0a bargain. The Nets just have so many others.”<\/p>\n
