Many took those words the wrong way, and his comments on why he was committed to the Wizard<\/a>s didn’t help much at all either.<\/p>\n However, the star forward recently gave the Washington Wizards a national shoutout during his appearance on ABC, and with his newfound perspective of the organization finally coming to light, it should be the exact comments that put the noise to rest once and for all.<\/p>\n Anthony Davis shines light on Wizards infrastructure<\/p>\n In a recent interview on ABC News, Davis talked openly about his fit with the Wizards and discussed how the league-wide perception of the team doesn’t tell the whole story.<\/p>\n \u201cPerception is not always reality, especially when it comes to the Wizards,” Davis said. \u201cFrom the outside looking in, it can look a little different, maybe not what people expect, but when you get there, it\u2019s actually a great organization, and that\u2019s what I realized.\u201d<\/p>\n The big man isn’t wrong. Over the last few years, Washington’s been viewed as the organization no player wants to come to, whether that be in free agency, on the trade market, or in the NBA Draft.<\/p>\n That perception, though, has slowly been turned around, and it started with the trend of Alex Sarr forcing his way to the DMV during the 2024 NBA Draft.<\/p>\n Following Sarr, Davis’ running mate Trae Young listed Washington as his preferred landing spot when his time with the Atlanta Hawks came to an end.<\/p>\n And now that Davis has publically said it, it’s time Washington gets the respect they deserve.<\/p>\n The nation’s capital will soon be back on the map<\/p>\n Nobody wants to admit it, but what general manager Will Dawkins and President of Monumental Basketball Michael Winger are building in D.C. is special.<\/p>\n The Wizards have an abundance of intriguing young talent, and they’re set to add another top prospect this offseason.<\/p>\n With the leadership of the team’s newly formed duo of Young and Davis, there’s no reason the Wizards can’t be back in the playoff conversation sooner rather than later,<\/p>\n And with Dawkins making it clear that the big man is a key piece to the team’s plans<\/a>, it’s clear that they view Davis as the player who can help them get back on the map.<\/p>\n
