For the second time this week, sporting events have forced Florence + the Machine to change concert plans due to scheduling conflicts.<\/p>\n
The band\u2019s April 25 concert, originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Philadelphia\u2019s Xfinity Mobile Arena, directly conflicted with the Philadelphia Flyers\u2019 home playoff game at 8 p.m. the same night at the same venue. On Friday, the band announced its show will now be about 60 miles away, at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.<\/p>\n

Those who had tickets to the original venue\u2019s show can purchase tickets<\/a> to the relocated show at 10 a.m. Monday, while the general public sale will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause,\u201d the band said in a statement posted to social media after the Philadelphia show was moved. \u201cUnfortunately, this decision is beyond our control, and after exploring many alternative scenarios, this became the only workable solution that would allow us to not cancel the show.\u201d<\/p>\n Scheduling conflicts can arise due to the last-minute planning of the NHL and NBA playoffs. The Flyers and Penguins weren\u2019t confirmed to play in the first round of the playoffs until Monday night, and the NHL\u2019s full playoff bracket wasn\u2019t locked in until early Friday morning, after the NHL\u2019s final games ended late Thursday night. Until the full schedule for Flyers-Penguins was announced after midnight on Friday morning, the only game that had a set time and date was Game 1, which is at 8 p.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n The 76ers, meanwhile, only advanced out of the NBA Play-in Tournament on Wednesday, leaving just three days between that game and Game 1 of the NBA\u2019s first round.<\/p>\n Further complicating matters in Philadelphia, the 76ers play the Celtics at Xfinity Mobile Arena on April 24 and 26 \u2014 with the Flyers game at the same venue on April 25, and the Florence + The Machine show moved to Atlantic City on the same night.<\/p>\n Xfinity Mobile Arena shares an owner, Comcast Spectacor, with the Flyers.<\/p>\n
