But that doesn’t keep the Vandals safe from the transfer portal.

In fact, nearly the entire roster graduated or has entered the portal, which opened Tuesday, April 7.

Of the 14 players who appeared in a game last season, just three remain after losing five seniors to graduation and six (so far) to the transfer portal. Senior Isiah Brickner was honored on Senior Day and has played four full seasons of college basketball but has reportedly entered the portal. He is not included among the six Vandals in the portal, as he would likely need a waiver to play another season.

The six Idaho players in the portal are Big Sky Freshman of the Year Jackson Rasmussen, along with Kolton Mitchell, Jack Payne, Trevon Blassingame, Ewan Steele and redshirt freshman Talon Jenkins.

That leaves Kristian Gonzalez, who missed all but the first game of the year with an injury; Seth Joba; Miles Klapper; Titus Yearout, who missed the entire season with an injury; and Will Jenson, who redshirted last season.

Players transferring TO IdahoKase Wynott — WSU — 6-foot-6, 215-pound Sophomore Guard

The Vandals didn’t have to go far to land its first transfer portal addition of the offseason. Washington State transfer and Idaho native Kase Wynott has signed with the Vandals.

Wynott, who was recruited by head coach Alex Pribble out of high school, played in five of the first six games for the Cougars before being sidelined for the remainder of the season with a hip injury.

In those five games, the 6-foot-6, 215-pound guard from Lapwai, Idaho, averaged 9.4 minutes and 4.0 points while shooting 50% from the field and 40% from 3-point range.

In WSU’s first game of the season against Idaho, Wynott scored five points on 2-4 shooting and had one steal.

As a freshman, Wynott played in 24 games, averaging 13.4 minutes, 1.2 points and 1.5 rebounds while shooting 29.7% from the field and 26% from beyond the arc.

Players transferring out of Idaho

Jackson Rasmussen — 6-foot-7, 200-pound freshman forward

Rasmussen was named Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year after playing and starting 35 games.
