Jalen Green<\/a> was seven years old when Steph Curry<\/a> entered the NBA in 2009. <\/p>\n

But even the league’s youth can appreciate what Curry has done for the game.<\/p>\n

After Green’s Phoenix Suns defeated Curry’s Warriors in the NBA play-in Friday night<\/a>, the two shared a brief moment together at Mortgage Matchup Center.<\/p>\n

“He was just telling me to handle business in OKC,” Green shared with the media postgame. “Coming from Steph, it means a lot to chop it up with him and just hear from him at the end of the day, just because I was maybe 16 years old when he was having me come out to Oakland just to work out with him. So he’s kind of been somewhat of a mentor. <\/p>\n

“I was able to get his number and reach out throughout these years. So he’s been kind of something like a mentor. And playing against him is always great. He’s one of the greatest shooters — greatest players of all time.”<\/p>\n

Green, now in his fifth NBA season, attended and trained at Curry\u2019s elite basketball camp around 2018 and later established a mentorship with him. Green worked on his game directly with Curry, who played a big role in helping refine his skills and mindset before joining the league. <\/p>\n

The two have had several high-stakes run-ins, from Green’s time with the Houston Rockets to now with the Suns.<\/p>\n

And while they appreciate the level of competition, it’s evident that the respect will always be there.<\/p>\n
