FAYETTEVILLE \u2014 Two Arkansas basketball<\/a> freshmen announced their intentions to return to the program on Friday, April 17.<\/p>\n

Isaiah Sealy and Paulo Semedo will play for the Razorbacks<\/a> in 2026-27, according to separate posts on the players respective Instagram accounts. Both Sealy and Semedo were four-star recruits coming out of high school, and they will be looking to carve out bigger roles in their second seasons under John Calipari<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Advertisement<\/p>\n

Semedo will be a redshirt freshman after not playing during the previous campaign. The four-star prospect coming out of Orlando is a native of Angola and was ranked No. 50 in the 2025 class by ESPN. He has previously played internationally for Spain at the U-18 and U-16 levels.<\/p>\n

At 7-foot-1 and 225 pounds, there’s a chance Semedo becomes a key contributor next season. Arkansas<\/a> is still hunting centers out of the transfer portal, with Semedo and Furman’s Cooper Bowser representing the only two big men currently on the roster. Malique Ewin could return if he is granted a fifth-year of eligibility by the NCAA.<\/p>\n

Sealy is a local Hog out of Springdale High School. Another four-star recruit, Sealy played in 19 games as a freshman. The 6-foot-7 wing scored 55 points with 11 assists, five blocks and five steals.<\/p>\n

Arkansas<\/a>‘ backcourt pecking order is also unclear. Freshman Jordan Smith Jr. and Georgia transfer Jeremiah Wilkinson will likely be starters, and the Hogs are still awaiting a decision from Billy Richmond III.<\/p>\n

Two players who will compete with Sealy for minutes are incoming five-star freshmen JJ Andrews and Abdou Toure. Meleek Thomas declared for the NBA Draft earlier this week while still maintaining his college eligibility if he does not receive positive feedback on his first-round projections.<\/p>\n
