Colorado transfer Bangot Dak has officially committed to Vanderbilt, per Joe Tipton of On3. The 7\u20190 center spent three years with the Buffaloes and will now join head coach Mark Byington and Co. in Nashville.<\/p>\n
This is a significant win for Vanderbilt in the Transfer Portal, as Dak was one of the more highly touted big men looking for a new home this offseason. He averaged 11.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this season at Colorado \u2014 making him the Buffaloes fourth-highest scorer \u2014 while shooting 49% from the field. He dropped double digit points in 22 games this season, eclipsing 20 points on two occasions. He was also Colorado\u2019s lead scorer in six games as well as its lead rebounder in 12 contests.<\/p>\n
Dak will bring some much-needed height to Byington\u2019s frontcourt as well as experience at the Power Five level. He\u2019s shown an incredible ability to make athletic plays and finish around the rim, while also being an incredibly efficient rebounder who can clean up on both the offensive and defensive glass. He also possesses a jump shot, although he uses it more sparingly, and can splash a few from deep if he gets hot. Not to mention, Dak excels as a rim protector on the defensive end, as evidenced by his 1.6 blocks per game this past season.<\/p>\n
Dak\u2019s commitment marks Byington\u2019s third addition from the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason, as forward Berke Buyuktuncel<\/a> and guard Ace Glass<\/a> both signed with Vanderbilt earlier this week. With Buyuktuncel and Dak now joining the Commodores, Vanderbilt\u2019s frontcourt looks to be one of the better units in the SEC when the season kicks off in November.<\/p>\n Byington has slowly begun to build his 2026-27 roster but expect a few more additions in the coming weeks as the team takes its full shape.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Colorado transfer Bangot Dak has officially committed to Vanderbilt, per Joe Tipton of On3.
