LeBron James said making sports history with son LeBron “Bronny” James Jr. is “the craziest thing”<\/p>\n

The pair became the first father-son duo to play in an NBA playoff game on April 18<\/p>\n

LeBron has played with the Lakers since 2018, and Bronny joined the team in 2024 during the second NBA draft<\/p>\n

LeBron<\/a> and LeBron “Bronny” James Jr.<\/a> continue to make sports history.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, April 18, the pair became the first father-son duo to play in an NBA playoff game.<\/p>\n

Both playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron, 41, and Bronny, 21, helped their team score a 107-98 victory over the Houston Rockets.<\/p>\n

After the game, LeBron spoke with reporters about how it felt to play alongside his eldest son, whom he shares with wife Savannah James<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere’s a lot of crazy things that’s been going on this year,\u201d the forward said, per video from ESPN<\/a>. \u201cI mean, I was on the floor with my son in a playoff game. That’s probably the craziest thing that’s ever happened to me in my career.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was just so cool to be out there with him,\u201d LeBron continued, adding that Bronny\u2019s brother Bryce, sister Zhuri, mom and grandma all watched the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat’s just insane. My mom gets to watch her son and her grandson during the playoffs. That’s crazy,\u201d the NBA champ said.<\/p>\n

LeBron also made history during the game as the oldest player to record a double-double with points and assists in the playoffs, according to Real App<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He has been with the Lakers for eight seasons since 2018. LeBron previously played for the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers.<\/p>\n

Bronny, meanwhile, joined the Lakers in 2024 during the second NBA draft on a four-year contract with the team<\/a>. He previously played one shortened season<\/a> at the University of Southern California.<\/p>\n

On April 6, LeBron appeared visibly frustrated<\/a> with the second-year Laker after he threw him a bad pass during the team’s 134-128 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.<\/p>\n

Game commentators called out the father-son interaction during the broadcast. “I love that look. That was not just LeBron the veteran, that was also LeBron the dad!” the commentators said<\/a>. “Watch his look at his son … bounce pass!”<\/p>\n

Weeks earlier, the duo made history<\/a> with the first father-son assist in an NBA game when the Lakers took on the Brooklyn Nets.<\/p>\n

At the time, Bronny hit a 3-pointer after a pass from his dad in the second quarter of the game, and the Lakers went on to a 116-99 victory.<\/p>\n

Back in October 2024, LeBron and Bronny made NBA history as the first father and son to play together at an NBA game.<\/p>\n
