Brooks, who has built a reputation as one of the league\u2019s most polarizing defenders, blends physical play with constant chatter and visible attempts to agitate his opponents. That edge has, at times, fueled his effectiveness\u2014disrupting rhythm and energizing his team.<\/p>\n

But that same edge has also led to fouls, including technicals, at times forcing head coach Jordan Ott to limit his minutes to keep him on the floor. That, Barkley said, is something Brooks must avoid with the playoffs underway.<\/p>\n

Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder\u2019s star, has defined his game with patience and elite shot creation. This season, he averaged roughly 3 points per game to go along with about six assists and five rebounds while shooting efficiently from the field \u2014 numbers that underscore his MVP-caliber impact. He also remains one of the league\u2019s leaders in free throws drawn, making him especially dangerous against overly aggressive defenders.<\/p>\n

While Brooks\u2019 energy could, in theory, disrupt Gilgeous-Alexander, how he channels it will matter most. Barkley has long praised Brooks\u2019 competitive fire, but Phoenix will need him available \u2014 and productive \u2014 for extended stretches.<\/p>\n
