Belmont forward Drew Scharnowski said Sunday that he is transferring to Duke.<\/p>\n

Scharnowski posted a picture of himself in a Duke uniform on his Instagram page with the word \u201ccommitted.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-9 Scharnowski averaged 10.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 blocks in 30 games (24 starts) while helping the Bruins win the Missouri Valley Conference\u2019s regular-season title. He shot 68.1% from the field and was a first-team All-MVC selection and earned All-Defense honors.<\/p>\n

Scharnowski made 69.4% of his two-point shots last season, which ranked 28th nationally according to KenPom.com. He also had the top block rate (8.2%) and second-best offensive rebounding percentage (12.2) among Missouri Valley players in league play.<\/p>\n

Scharnowski shot just 43.6% from the free-throw line this season.<\/p>\n

As a redshirt freshman in 2024-25, Scharnowski averaged 5.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in 25 games (two starts).<\/p>\n

Scharnowski began considering a move from Belmont after coach Casey Alexander left for the Kansas State gig after a 26-6 season. He announced he would transfer four weeks ago and Kansas State was one of the schools he considered before choosing the Blue Devils.<\/p>\n
