Men\u2019s basketball has strengthened its frontcourt depth with the addition of University of Georgia junior forward Dylan James, a move first reported<\/a> by CBS Sports\u2019 Jon Rothstein.<\/p>\n

James spent three seasons with the Bulldogs, where he averaged<\/a> 4.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 15 minutes per game as a junior while providing consistent size and physicality in the paint. The 6-foot-9 forward recorded 253 career rebounds at Georgia, including 159 on the defensive end, giving the Revolutionaries a proven presence on the glass.<\/p>\n

The former Bulldog joins three former Power Five conference players who have announced their transfers to Foggy Bottom ahead of next season, including guards<\/a> Omari Witherspoon and Felix Kossaras and forward<\/a> Terrance Arceneaux.<\/p>\n

The Winter Haven, Florida, native appeared in 33 games for Georgia last season and started in two. He had a season-high 16 points in the Bulldogs\u2019 92-77 loss<\/a> to the previous national champion University of Florida Gators in January. <\/p>\n

In Georgia\u2019s NCAA Tournament first-round loss<\/a> to Atlantic 10 foe Saint Louis, James started and played 17 minutes, scoring 5 points.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During his sophomore campaign, the big man averaged 3.2 points per game and 2.2 rebounds per game in 13.6 minutes. He started eight of the team\u2019s 32 games, including the final seven games counting the team\u2019s first-round March Madness matchup with the Gonzaga University Bulldogs. He also had a career-high five blocks in the Bulldogs\u2019 66-63 victory<\/a> over St. John\u2019s University in November.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In his freshman year, he appeared in 22 games and averaged 4.0 points and 2.6 assists in mostly sheltered minutes. Down the stretch, he started the final eight games.\u00a0<\/p>\n

James was a four-star recruit coming out of Winter Haven High School, according<\/a> to 247Sports. He was the 87th-ranked player nationally and the ninth in the state of Florida. In his career at Winter Haven, he notched<\/a> 57 double-digit scoring performances and 24 double-doubles.\u00a0<\/p>\n
