He fills Charlotte\u2019s biggest roster hole immediately, giving them the star center they\u2019ve lacked for years \u2014 and one who can impact the game in almost every way.<\/p>\n Yes, LaMelo Ball and Adebayo had their big conflict recently<\/a>, but that tension evaporates the moment they become teammates. Bam is a high\u2011IQ big with strong passing instincts, and pairing him with Ball would unlock offensive layers this team has never seen. The pick\u2011and\u2011roll becomes lethal, spacing improves, and the decision\u2011making is better. Everything gets easier.<\/p>\n Of course, Miami wouldn\u2019t be short on suitors. Adebayo is the type of player who draws league\u2011wide interest the second he\u2019s available. And after the chaos of the Hornets\u2011Heat play\u2011in game, it\u2019s hard to picture these two franchises sitting at the same negotiating table. On top of that, Jeff Peterson may not be eager to part with two players and four first\u2011round picks this offseason.<\/p>\n Still, the Heat\u2019s long\u2011standing refusal to tank only lasts until it no longer makes sense. At some point, every franchise has to choose between clinging to the middle or resetting before it\u2019s too late. Living in lottery purgatory is the worst possible outcome.<\/p>\n Adebayo being a North Carolina native gives Charlotte a subtle but meaningful edge. In this scenario, the Hornets get the franchise\u2011changing big man they\u2019ve desperately needed, and Miami gets its pick back from the Rozier deal<\/a> plus the draft capital required to kickstart a rebuild.<\/p>\n
