USC<\/a> has its new center for next season in former\u00a0Connecticut<\/a> freshman Eric Reibe<\/a> after his commitment to the Trojans Monday.<\/p>\n

Reibe averaged 5.9 points per game shooting 65.8 percent from the field. He also averaged 3.3 rebounds per game and just under one block per game while playing 13.8 minutes off the bench backing up UConn star Tarris Reed Jr. and fellow senior Alex Karaban.\u00a0Reibe did start five games Reed missed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 7-foot-1 big man looks to be a direct replacement for former Trojans center Gabe Dynes<\/a>, who entered the portal Friday, and is the second addition for the cardinal and gold out of the transfer portal along with former Georgetown<\/a> guard\u00a0KJ Lewis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Reibe is originally from Hanover, Germany and went to school there before coming to the states to play his senior season at Potomac (Md.) The Bullis School. He led the team to the 2025 Maryland Private School state championship, finishing with 23 points and 12 rebounds in the title game. He was the No. 28 overall player and the third-ranked center in the 2025 class in 247Sports’ composite ratings. He’s a McDonald’s All-American and played for the World Team in the 2025 Nike Hoop Summit. He also represented Germany in the FIBA U19 World Cup and helped them to a silver medal before playing in college.<\/p>\n

Reibe is listed at 260 pounds, so he’s fully capable of banging down low, but like most European big men, he is skilled enough to play on the perimeter as well. He only shot 4 for 13 from three-point range this season\u00a0and 52.1 percent from the charity stripe, but his shooting numbers should tick up with more consistent playing time at USC.<\/p>\n

The Trojans\u00a0continue to overhaul their roster this offseason. They have lost six players\u00a0to the transfer portal\u00a0with point guard Jordan Marsh<\/a>, shooting guards\u00a0Jerry Easter II<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0EJ Neal Jr.<\/a>, small forward Amarion Dickerson<\/a> and Dynes entering. Guards Kam Woods<\/a> and Ryan Cornish<\/a> along with forwards\u00a0Ezra Ausar<\/a>, Terrance Williams II<\/a>\u00a0and Jaden Brownell<\/a> all exhausted their eligibility.<\/p>\n

Reibe brings size and youth to head coach\u00a0Eric Musselman<\/a>‘s 2026-27 squad that includes shooting guards Rodney Rice<\/a> and Lewis as well as incoming freshmen Adonis Ratliff<\/a>,\u00a0Darius Ratliff<\/a> and\u00a0Christian Collins<\/a>.<\/p>\n
