Every day requires something different. Tomorrow is going to require an elevated sense of desperation on our part because they\u2019re going to come in with that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of stuff that we can do better and a lot of stuff we can clean up,\u201d he added. \u201cWe know that they\u2019re going to be the more desperate team in game two and we have to play with the same sense of desperation we had in game one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just like in Game 1, the Lakers are expected to miss Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves in Game 2, leaving the likes of LeBron James, <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/luke-kennard\/\" title=\"Luke Kennard\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"232775\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Luke Kennard<\/a>, Rui Hachimura, and DeAndre Ayton to carry the offensive load once more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Rockets played without <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/kevin-durant\/\" title=\"Kevin Durant\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"232776\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kevin Durant<\/a> in Game 1 due to a knee injury. In the latest injury report, Durant is listed as questionable to play. Nevertheless, other reports have him as a game-time decision for the Rockets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lakers See Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves Return To Shooting Practice With Team Ahead of Game 2<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5894793\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5894793\" data-lazy-load=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1776769824_38_GettyImages-2259976209-e1775762140565.jpg\" alt=\"Lakers\" width=\"780\" height=\"438\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-5894793\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">GettyLuka Don\u010di\u0107 and Austin Reaves return to practice for the Lakers.<\/p>\n<p>As Game 2 approaches, the Lakers see good news from their top two scorers, Doncic and Reaves, as the two guards were seen participating in shooting and dribbling drills on the team\u2019s Monday morning practice.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Doncic and Reaves have been expediting their recovery to play with the Lakers in the first round against the Rockets.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Doncic has been hobbled with a left hamstring strain, while Reaves nurses a left oblique strain. Both injuries were picked up late in the regular season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to Redick, their participation went well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been nice. It\u2019s been really nice. He definitely rebounded and passed in some shooting drills,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In Doncic and Reaves\u2019 absences, James, who is 41 years old and the longest active player in the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" title=\"NBA\" href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/nba\/\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\" data-wpil-monitor-id=\"232774\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NBA<\/a>, has orchestrated the offense for the Lakers. The game will tip off at 10:30 p.m Eastern time in Los Angeles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Rockets are expected to come out strong in Game 2 as the possibility of a Kevin Durant return increases.
