The No. 6 seed Louisville Cardinals’ NCAA Tournament run ended in the second round after a loss to the No. 3 Michigan State Spartans<\/a>. Despite not making it further, it was a solid season under second-year head coach Pat Kelsey. They went 24-11 (11-7 in ACC<\/a> games) and made it to the second round for the first time since the 2016-17 season.<\/p>\n

With the offseason in full swing, Louisville, just like many other teams, continues to make splashes in the transfer portal. As of now, the Cardinals’ portal class ranks 21st<\/a> in the nation, bringing in three players while losing six.<\/p>\n

Still trying to replenish their lost talent, Kelsey and his staff are weighing more options still available on the market. On3’s senior national recruiting analyst, Jamie Shaw, predicts<\/a> Louisville will receive a commitment from former Iowa Hawkeyes forward Alvaro Folgueiras.<\/p>\n

The forward wrapped up his first season with the Hawkeyes after transferring from the Robert Morris Colonials. He appeared in 37 games and made one start, averaging 8.4<\/a> points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists. The 6-foot-10, 230-pound big man also shot 50% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range.<\/p>\n

With one more season of eligibility, Folgueiras is viewed as one of the top players to hit the transfer portal this offseason. On3 Industry Rankings<\/a> list him as a four-star recruit, the No. 52 player and No. 13 power forward.<\/p>\n

With Louisville searching for continued improvement under Kelsey, adding Folgueiras would be an exciting outcome. He could be their fourth transfer commit, alongside<\/a> forward Karter Knox<\/a> (Arkansas Razorbacks<\/a>), guard Jackson Shelstad<\/a> (Oregon Ducks<\/a>) and center Flory Bidunga<\/a> (Kansas Jayhawks).<\/p>\n
