Baylor<\/a> forward Tounde Yessoufou<\/a> has entered the NCAA transfer portal<\/a>, On3\u2019s Pete Nakos<\/a> has learned. Yessoufou just wrapped up his first season of college basketball, deciding to hit the open market. Waco was considered home for just a short time. Now, Yessoufou turns into one of the hottest names available.<\/p>\n

Yessoufou played high school basketball at Santa Maria (CA) St. Joseph<\/a>, where he was a five-star prospect. Just one service ranked him as a four-star, being close to Five-Star Plus+<\/a> status. He was the No. 14 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle<\/a>, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking<\/a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.<\/p>\n

\u201cTounde Yessoufou is a physically developed, explosively athletic wing prospect,\u201d On3\u2019s Jamie Shaw<\/a> said in a scouting report<\/a>. \u201cConsistent production is the name of the game for the 6-5 Yessoufou. Defensively, he guards multiple positions, able to move his feet on the perimeter or switch down to guard some on the block. He has the quick-twitch to defend the ball and the anticipation and length as a team defender. <\/p>\n

\u201cOffensively, he has a solid pace and is at his best getting downhill in straight lines. Yessoufou needs to continue working on his middle game and his counters off the bounce. The jump shot is coming along but could also use some continued attention. The shot release can get flat and his balance\/footwork get off when shooting off movement. He fills the lanes hard, pushes the break with pace, and is tough on the boards. He has consistently produced in every setting. Excellent motor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Baylor and head coach Scott Drew<\/a> then did a great job getting production out of Yessoufou. He averaged 17.8 points while shooting 46.5% from the field. If anything, Yessoufou would like to find some improvement from deep, only making 29.3% of his three-point attempts.<\/p>\n

The Bear also relied on Yessoufou when it came to the glass. Just under six rebounds per game came from the freshman, which ended up second on the team.<\/p>\n

Looking back at the high school recruitment, two West Coast schools finished as finalists before losing out to Baylor. Yessoufou found himself interested in Arizona State<\/a> and USC<\/a>, now having a chance to re-engage with them if desired.<\/p>\n
