Rookie VJ Edgecombe<\/a> stole the show at TD Garden Tuesday night to power the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> past the Celtics in a 111-97 win. VJ Edgecombe overcame a hard fall on his backside in the first quarter that prompted him to go to the locker room twice.<\/p>\n

But he returned both times to pace the 76ers alongside his backcourt mate, Tyrese Maxey<\/a>. The tandem led an onslaught from 3 as Philadelphia<\/a> shot 19 of 39 (49%) from long distance.<\/p>\n

Edgecombe led Philadelphia with 30 points while shooting 6 of 10 from 3. Maxey added 29 while shooting 5 of 12 from long distance. The effort marked a stark contrast from Boston\u2019s 123-91 blowout win in Game 1 in which the 76ers shot 4 of 23 (17%) from beyond the arc.<\/p>\n

Tuesday marked Boston\u2019s turn to go cold from 3 as the Celtics shot 13 of 47 (28%) from beyond the arc.
