DETROIT \u2013 Detroit Pistons<\/a> sharpshooter Duncan Robinson<\/a> said the team is focused on execution and internal adjustments rather than narratives as it prepares for Game 2 against the Orlando Magic following a Game 1 loss.<\/p>\n

Robinson, whose birthday is on Wednesday (April 22), said the Pistons are not shifting their mindset into a \u201chunter\u201d role despite dropping the opener, emphasizing consistency in their approach.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, not necessarily,\u201d Robinson said. \u201cIt\u2019s nothing new to us and what we\u2019ve been doing all season. We\u2019re in a good spot right now. We\u2019ve got a great opportunity to win one here at home and just take one game at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Pistons struggled early in Game 1 and never fully recovered, but Robinson pushed back on the idea that a lack of urgency after time off was an excuse.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t say that that\u2019s an excuse for us,\u201d Robinson said. \u201cWe didn\u2019t come out the way we wanted to. At this point, there\u2019s no sense in getting caught up in the reasoning as to why. We\u2019re not interested in making excuses, but instead just making adjustments.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Michigan Wolverines<\/a> star said the focus in practice has been a mix of tactical corrections and reinforcing the team\u2019s identity.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a combination of both,\u201d Robinson said. \u201cWe\u2019re going to make adjustments, but we\u2019re also going to focus on doing what we do better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Orlando\u2019s physical defense and interior pressure limited Detroit\u2019s rhythm in Game 1, something Robinson said must be addressed through better spacing and execution.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve got to be aware of spacing and positioning on the court,\u201d Robinson said. \u201cThey\u2019re a physical team. We\u2019ve got to be detailed as to where we are on the floor and how we can help each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robinson also pointed to the importance of transition opportunities and defensive disruption, noting that the Pistons are at their best when they force turnovers and push the pace.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s when we\u2019re at our best,\u201d Robinson said. \u201cJust being disruptive, getting into passing lanes, and getting out in transition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the loss, Robinson said Detroit has repeatedly shown the ability to respond to adversity throughout the season.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve had stretches where we haven\u2019t looked like ourselves,\u201d Robinson said. \u201cThe most important thing is finding a way to come together and bounce back. We\u2019ve got a lot of reps doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robinson added that Game 2 will come down to effort and execution rather than emotional response.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust come out with a disposition that we know we\u2019re capable of,\u201d Robinson said. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be difficult to guard us on one side and score on us on the other if we do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Pistons will host the Magic in Game 2 on Wednesday night inside Little Caesars Arena, aiming to even the series.<\/p>\n

Tip-off is at 7 p.m. on ESPN.<\/p>\n
