The Colorado men\u2019s basketball team added heft to its revamped frontcourt with its first transfer addition, former North Dakota State forward Noah Feddersen.<\/p>\n
With their second transfer addition, the Buffaloes added a player with a proven rebounding pedigree.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, former UNC Greensboro forward Justin Neely announced his commitment to the Buffs and head coach Tad Boyle, as first reported by On3 Sports. Neely visited CU on Tuesday and, despite a 6-foot-6 frame, he brings a rebounding intensity the Buffs sorely lacked while finishing 11th in the Big 12 Conference.<\/p>\n
Originally from Miami Beach, Florida, Neely began a four-season run at Albany by winning the American East Rookie of the Year award in 2021-22. A torn ACL robbed Neely of all but eight games over the next two seasons, but he returned to form in 2024-25, when he won the American East Sixth Man of the Year honor after averaging 7.1 rebounds.<\/p>\n
After transferring to UNC Greensboro, Neely was a first team All-Southern Conference selection after averaging a double-double with 17.9 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Neely shot .542 from the field and .784 at the free throw line, but after UNC Greensboro let go now-former head coach Mike Jones following the season, Neely again opted for the transfer portal.<\/p>\n
\u201cRebounding translates,\u201d Boyle said last week in regard to Fedderson, who averaged 5.0 rebounds in 99 games during his three seasons at North Dakota State. The Buffs hope that will be the case with Neely.<\/p>\n
The Buffs finished 13th in the Big 12 in average rebounding margin (minus-0.2) and struggled even more during conference play, ranking 14th in league games at minus-3.7.
