No. 1 seed Detroit<\/a> defeated No. 8 seed Orlando<\/a>, 98-83, Wednesday in Game 2 of the NBA playoffs first round at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.<\/p>\n

The best-of-seven series is tied, 1-1, between the Pistons and Magic.<\/p>\n

Former Tennnessere<\/a> basketball player Tobias Harris<\/a> started and played 33 minutes for the Pistons. He recorded a double-double, totaling 16 points and 11 rebounds. Harris also recorded one assist, two steals and two blocks. He converted 7-of-17 field goal attempts and 2-of-2 free throw attempts.<\/p>\n

Harris played for the Vols from 2010-11 under head coach\u00a0Bruce Pearl<\/a>. In his one season at Tennessee, he averaged 15.3 points and 7.3 assists per game. Harris was a Second-Team All-SEC performer and a member of the SEC All-Freshman Team. He received Second-Team Freshman All-America honors by the USBWA.<\/p>\n

The former Vol was selected in the first round of the\u00a02011 NBA draft<\/a>\u00a0(No. 19 overall) by the Bobcats.<\/p>\n

In his NBA career, Harris has played for Milwaukee<\/a> (2011-13), Orlando (2013-16), Detroit (2016-18, 2024-26), the Clippers<\/a> (2018-19) and Philadelphia<\/a> (2019-24).<\/p>\n

Former Vol and rookie Chaz Lanier<\/a> did not play for the Pistons in Game 2 due to a coach’s decision.<\/p>\n

Game 3 of the series is slated for Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT at Kia Center in Orlando, Florida.<\/p>\n
