TORONTO \u2014 Bright spots were hard for the Cavaliers<\/a> to detect after their 126-104 loss to the Toronto Raptors<\/a> in Game 3 of their first-round playoff series, but second-year Cavs<\/a> wing Jaylon Tyson and his younger brother, Jordyn Tyson,<\/a> provided some semblance of them.<\/p>\n

As Jaylon Tyson<\/a> played in the second quarter on April 23 at Scotiabank Arena, the New Orleans Saints picked wide receiver Jordyn Tyson<\/a> in the first round (No. 8 overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft out of Arizona State. In the buildup to the draft, Jaylon Tyson had been telling anyone who would listen his sibling would become a top-10 selection.<\/p>\n

“Him being a top-10 pick, I was telling people I would bet my rookie contract on that,” Jaylon Tyson said. “I\u2019d bet my money on that. I\u2019d bet on him having a really good career. I’ll be there to support him. I’m sure he’ll be there for me.”<\/p>\n

During a timeout in the second quarter, the Cavs’<\/a> head of security gave Jaylon Tyson the news about which team had picked his brother. Although the Tyson brothers would have loved if the Browns had drafted Jordyn, the Saints provided a bit of nostalgia.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrowing up, that was my favorite team,” Jaylon Tyson said. “New Orleans<\/a>, the Saints were my favorite team with Drew Brees, Michael Thomas. I promise you everything I love. I promise you. Michael Thomas was my favorite player.<\/p>\n

“[My brother] went to an organization, obviously, they’re trying to figure things out, trying to rebuild. But I think he’s going to be a good culture piece. I think he can go there and help be a big piece of turning that thing around.”<\/p>\n

As Jordyn Tyson waited to learn his fate in the draft, he watched Game 3 on a laptop. Jaylon Tyson scored 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor (3 of 6 on 3-pointers) and tallied two rebounds, four assists and one steal in 16 minutes off the bench.<\/p>\n

“He can obviously score the ball, so that was a big boost for us,” Cavs coach Kenny Atkinson said.<\/p>\n

To summarize, Jaylon Tyson had his best individual outing of this postseason, and his brother lived an NFL dream.<\/p>\n

The only negative? The Cavs were pulverized, and their lead in the best-of-seven series dropped to 2-1.<\/p>\n

“Honestly, [the Raptors] came out like they had nothing to lose,” Jaylon Tyson said. “Hats off to them. Good win. But we’ll make adjustments and be better [in Game 4] Sunday.\u201d<\/p>\n
