The video showed Haliburton stepping out of a Sprinter van surrounded by white women, which quickly fueled assumptions online. He shut that down just as quickly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cThose are her sister and friends from growing up,\u201d he said. \u201cThese are our people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">His relationship with Jones adds another layer to the story. The two met at Iowa State, where she cheered, and their bond has only strengthened over time. In July 2025, Haliburton proposed inside Hilton Coliseum, tying their present to where everything began.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Jones later reflected on a season filled with highs and heartbreak, especially after Haliburton\u2019s Achilles tear during the NBA Finals.
