Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton<\/a> took things in stride when he was questioned about always being around \u201cwhite girls.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat don\u2019t bother me,\u201d Haliburton, 26, said with a laugh during an interview with rapper Cam\u2019ron on the Monday, April 20, episode of his \u201cCome and Talk 2 Me\u201d<\/a> podcast. \u201cMy fianc\u00e9e, she\u2019s a white girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

Haliburton got engaged to his fianc\u00e9e, Jade Jones<\/a>, in July 2025, after the pair met during their time together at Iowa State University, where Jones was on the cheerleading squad.<\/p>\n

In addition to his relationship, Cam\u2019ron referenced a recent video of Haliburton \u201chopping out of Sprinter vans\u201d with a group of white women.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m from Wisconsin, I grew up around all white people,\u201d Haliburton explained. \u201cMy girl is from Iowa. She grew up around all white people, you know what I mean? That video where you see me hop out a car with a bunch of white girls? That\u2019s like her sister and all her friends from growing up.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cPeople are killing me, but I\u2019m just like, \u2018These are our people from growing up.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Haliburton proposed to Jones in July 2025, dropping to one knee inside Hilton Coliseum on Iowa State\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe place where our story started, and where our next chapter begins \u2764\ufe0f\ud83d\udc8d,\u201d the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post<\/a> announcing their impending nuptials.<\/p>\n

The engagement came roughly a month after Haliburton tore his right Achilles tendon<\/a> in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.<\/p>\n

After the injury, and the Pacers\u2019 subsequent heartbreaking loss, Jones reflected on the season with a poignant post on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat a year!!! What a bittersweet ending to it all,\u201d she shared via Instagram<\/a> alongside a carousel of photos from throughout the season. \u201cThis team is SO special, beyond words. You have made a historic run for the Pacers that generations will be talking about!!! This season has made such a special imprint on my heart. One of the best things we have ever been a part of!!! Just know how much it meant to all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones continued, \u201cThe smile you have put on people\u2019s faces, the joy & excitement you have brought to this city. You have been nothing short of amazing. You are so selfless, brave, and strong! We have the best support system around us who will pull you through this! I will always be your biggest cheerleader. I will forever be so proud of you!! Our team\u2019s got you. We will be back, we\u2019re not finished yet! Gods plan, Gods timing \ud83d\udc9b My superstar, I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Haliburton missed the entire 2025-2026 season with the injury, but he is hoping to be healthy when the Pacers return to action later in the fall.<\/p>\n
