A former teammate of James Harden<\/a> is making some crazy accusations about his pre-workout regimen. <\/p>\n

Prior to Harden joining the Brooklyn Nets, he was traded by the Houston Rockets,<\/a> where a former teammate alleges that the combo guard would have some fun at the club<\/a> and then hit the gym.<\/p>\n

\u201c(The) man could sit up here and go out,\u201d Robert Covington, who played with Harden on the Rockets for the 2013-14 season, said recently on the Run Your Race podcast. \u201cJames be out all night, till four, five in the morning, and that man up at seven o\u2019clock working out \u2026 and I\u2019m talking about drinking heavy. We\u2019re not talking about, like, (what) we here sipping right now. We\u2019re talking about 10, 12, 13, 15 shots. Bottles, like, bottles. Great time. And he going to go home, going to have that little power nap and he\u2019ll be in that gym.\u201d<\/p>\n

Covington continued: \u201cAnd Toronto\u2019s reputation as a road city that requires careful navigation is well earned. In the earliest days of the franchise, former Raptors general manager Isiah Thomas’s decision to introduce 1 p.m. Sunday starts was very intentional as he was looking for every advantage he could find. As he told me once about the intended awkwardness of the early tip: \u201cNBA players work nights.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harden was on the Rockets for nine seasons before his trade to the Nets. He was repping Brooklyn for one season until he was whisked away to the Philadelphia 76ers alongside Paul Millsap in an exchange for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two first-round draft picks. After the 76ers, Harden went to the Los Angeles Clippers but was later traded in February 2026 to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Darius Garland and a draft pick. <\/p>\n
