{"id":721705,"date":"2026-04-30T03:57:29","date_gmt":"2026-04-30T03:57:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/721705\/"},"modified":"2026-04-30T03:57:29","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T03:57:29","slug":"pelicans-deandre-jordan-named-nbas-teammate-of-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/721705\/","title":{"rendered":"Pelicans&#8217; DeAndre Jordan named NBA&#8217;s Teammate of Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Orleans Pelicans center DeAndre Jordan was named this year&#8217;s winner of the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year award on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Presented annually since 2012-13, the award recognizes the player deemed the league&#8217;s best teammate, based on selfless play, leadership on and off the court as a mentor and role model to other NBA players, and commitment to the team.<\/p>\n<p>The 12 finalists were selected by a panel of league executives, with current players voting to determine the winner.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan, 37, narrowly beat three-time winner Jrue Holiday of the Portland Trail Blazers. Jordan received the most first-place votes (66) and finished with 1,445 points, eight ahead of Holiday (1,437). Houston&#8217;s Jeff Green (1,420) finished third and Toronto&#8217;s Garrett Temple (1,223) was fourth, well ahead of the rest of the field.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan is a three-time All-NBA player, a two-time All-Defensive Team honoree, a one-time All-Star (2016-17) and an NBA champion with the Denver Nuggets in 2022-23.
