While two-way players \u2014 who are on contracts that allow them to split time between the NBA and the G League \u2014 aren\u2019t eligible to play in the NBA postseason, it\u2019s customary that they make playoff trips with their NBA teams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat one&#8217;s on me,\u201d Cronin, who became full-time GM in May 2022, told reporters Thursday. \u201cIt was more of a miscommunication on my end. We&#8217;ve talked about doing some traveling party reductions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNext year, we&#8217;ll run a little lighter. I just assumed that meant including them, and I didn&#8217;t double check. And we fixed that mistake. We brought those guys to San Antonio [for Game 5]. We just want to keep meeting people and keep talking to people and having a really thorough process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cronin was peppered with a few questions about the Billups situation. He said he couldn\u2019t comment on it at the moment and that there are no updates he can provide right now. We&#8217;re going to pay the coach based on some sort of level of shared risk. If it&#8217;s a first-time coach who comes with a lot of risk and doesn&#8217;t have a market that we have to necessarily compete in, it&#8217;ll be one number.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the coach we&#8217;re talking to is a 15-year vet and a future Hall of Famer, it&#8217;s going to be a completely different number, and Tom isn&#8217;t going to flinch at either of those scenarios. He&#8217;s like, &#8216;Yep, do it.&#8217; And at that moment, I said, &#8216;OK, he&#8217;s about winning. He&#8217;s going to put money into this team whenever it&#8217;s necessary.&#8217;\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Cronin said he and Dundon have had dialogue about buying into this year\u2019s draft using cash.
