Jamahl Mosley<\/a> had no choice but to explain what went wrong for the Orlando Magic in their season-ending loss to the Detroit Pistons<\/a> in Game 7 on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Mosley and the Magic had a lot of positive momentum in the first round, winning three out of the initial four games to take a 3-1 series lead. However, they lost star forward Franz Wagner<\/a> due to a calf strain, leaving a major impact on the team on both sides of the ball. Their offense significantly regressed as Detroit took full advantage, coming back all the way to complete the comeback and end Orlando<\/a>\u2019s playoff run.<\/p>\n

Mosley reflected on the Game 7 loss<\/a> during the postgame press conference, per reporter Brandon Green. He praised the team\u2019s effort on leaving it all out on the court but noted the costly mistakes they made throughout the course of the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey left it all on the line this game\u2026that\u2019s part of being able to coach this group that they found a way to fight, no matter the circumstances. That\u2019s the one thing that I want to say I\u2019m appreciative of most of all for these guys. That second quarter, couple empty possessions, couple misses at the rim, long three. They get out in transition. I think the biggest sign for me was one, I think we missed one at the rim. Cade comes down and hits a knockdown three, and then that\u2019s the momentum swing, coming out into the third. I thought we did a decent job defensively. We just couldn\u2019t find the basket, couldn\u2019t put it in the hole,\u201d Mosley said.<\/p>\n

How Jamahl Mosley, Magic performed against Pistons<\/p>\n

With the Magic\u2019s season ending in disastrous fashion, Jamahl Mosley\u2019s future as their head coach will be in question following the series loss to the Pistons.<\/p>\n

Four players scored in double-digits for Orlando in the loss. Paolo Banchero<\/a> led the team with 38 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and a block. Desmond Bane<\/a> came next with 16 points and three rebounds, Wendell Carter Jr.<\/a> had 13 points and five rebounds, while Anthony Black<\/a> provided 11 points and five steals.<\/p>\n

The Magic finished with a 45-37 record, beating the Charlotte Hornets<\/a> in the play-in tournament to clinch the eighth and final seed in the East. The offseason now awaits them this summer.<\/p>\n
