The San Antonio Spurs<\/a> were shocked while the New York Knicks<\/a> rolled at home in Game 1 of their respective NBA Playoffs second-round matchups. Wednesday night is 2 with redemption opportunities abound.<\/p>\n

NBA: Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> at New York Knicks (7 p.m. ET, ESPN)<\/p>\n

The Sixers spent all their emotional energy getting past the Celtics<\/a> in seven games. The Knicks took advantage and cruised to an easy 137-98 win in Game 1 of this second-round series of rivals. Jalen Brunson<\/a> scored 27 of his 35 points in the first half; it was the biggest blowout for the Knicks in playoff history.<\/p>\n

Now Philly must shake it off and respond Joel Embiid<\/a>, Tyrese Maxey<\/a> and Paul George<\/a> all struggled in the series opener. Expect a more competitive Game 2 before the series heads to Philadelphia, where the Sixers won both regular-season meetings with the Knicks. Also expect Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a> and OG Anunoby<\/a> to be focused on keeping the home court.<\/p>\n

NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> at San Antonio Spurs (9:30 p.m. ET, ESPN)<\/p>\n

Minnesota leads the series 1-0 after a thrilling 104-102 road victory in Game 1. Anthony Edwards<\/a> returned from injury and scored 18 points off the bench, while the Wolves held off a late Spurs surge, with Julian Champagnie<\/a> missing a potential game-winner at the buzzer.<\/p>\n

Defense was a massive key for the Wolves in the opener, holding Victor Wembanyama<\/a> to 11 points and De\u2019Aaron Fox<\/a> to 10 points on a combined 10-of-31 shooting, including 0-for-12 on 3\u2019s. We can expect an energized bounce-back effort from San Antonio<\/a>, the No. 2 seed in the West.<\/p>\n

We can also expect more from Edwards, who played 25 minutes. He was one of six Wolves in double-figures, with Julius Randle<\/a> pouring in 21 with 10 rebounds.<\/p>\n

NHL: Anaheim Ducks at Vegas Golden Knights (9:30 p.m. ET, TNT)<\/p>\n

Vegas took Game 1 at home 3-1 with a go-ahead goal in the third period by Ivan Barbashev. Anaheim actually outshot Vegas, but Carter Hart was beyond solid in net for the Knights. The Ducks bring speed and energy but must solve Vegas\u2019 structure, physicality and goaltending.<\/p>\n

Game 2 is critical \u2013 Anaheim had one of the NHL\u2019s stronger home ice advantages, so a win here would go a long way to pulling out the series. Vegas wants to maintain status quo and head to California up 2-0.<\/p>\n

MLB: Texas Rangers at New York Yankees (7:05 p.m. ET, Prime)<\/p>\n

The Yankees took Game 1 of the series 7-4 on Tuesday and are now 25-11, the best record in the American League. They lead MLB in home runs hit and are second in runs scored. The pitching has been just a superb, No. 1 in the league in staff ERA (2.98). Texas (16-19) has dropped three straight and its bats are the issue, bottom-10 in scoring and homers.<\/p>\n

Wednesday\u2019s pitching matchup pits Nathan Eovaldi (3-4, 4.76 ERA) vs. Will Warren (4-0, 2.39). The Rangers will need to figure out Warren to pull the upset in the Bronx \u2013 something seven past opponents have yet to do.<\/p>\n
