The Phoenix Suns<\/a> made their way into The\u00a0Athletic\u2019s\u00a02026 anonymous NBA player poll\u00a0in which 161 players were surveyed.<\/p>\n

Writers Josh Robbins, Sam\u00a0Amick\u00a0and Joe Vardon polled the players.<\/p>\n

Suns guard Collin Gillespie<\/a> received two percent of the votes for the NBA\u2019s most underrated player.<\/p>\n

Gillespie averaged a career-high 12.7 points in setting a franchise record for most made 3s in a single season at 232.<\/p>\n

Atlanta Hawks<\/a> All-Star Jalen Johnson<\/a> and Boston Celtics<\/a> guard Derrick White<\/a> received the highest percentage of votes at four percent.<\/p>\n

A total of 151 votes were tabulated. Eighty-nine players received at least one vote.<\/p>\n

Suns All-Star Devin Booker<\/a> and reserve guard Jamaree Bouyea<\/a>\u00a0received 0.7% of the votes for most underrated, as did Milwaukee Bucks<\/a>\u00a0forward\u00a0Thanasis Antetokounmpo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Suns forward Dillon Brooks<\/a>\u00a0landed among the league\u2019s most overrated\u00a0players despite averaging a career-high 20.2 points in his first year in Phoenix.<\/p>\n

Brooks received 2.5% of the votes as did\u00a0Tyrese Haliburton<\/a> (Indiana Pacers<\/a>), Tyler Herro<\/a> (Miami Heat<\/a>), Evan Mobley<\/a> (Cleveland Cavaliers), Brandin Podziemski<\/a> (Golden State Warriors<\/a>)\u00a0and Domantas Sabonis<\/a> (Sacramento Kings<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Houston<\/a> Rockets All-Star Alperen Sengun<\/a> garnished\u00a0the highest percentage of votes for most overrated at 12.3%.<\/p>\n

A total of 81 votes were calculated.<\/p>\n

Reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander<\/a>\u00a0of the Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a>, Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> All-Star LeBron James<\/a>, the league\u2019s all-time leading scorer,\u00a0and San Antonio Spurs<\/a> All-Star Victor Wembanyama<\/a> were among several players to receive 1.2% of the votes.<\/p>\n

The poll made news last season with Haliburton being voted most overrated at 14.4% before he led the Pacers\u00a0to the 2025 NBA Finals.<\/p>\n

Suns coach Jordan Ott finished\u00a0fifth\u00a0in poll for\u00a0most impressive coaches at 6.8% as the players were unable to vote for their own coach.<\/p>\n

A total of 146 votes were tabulated.<\/p>\n

Joe Mazzulla (Boston Celtics) received the highest percentage of votes at 17.8% followed by Mark Daigneault (Oklahoma City Thunder) at 15.8%, J.B. Bickerstaff (Detroit Pistons)\u00a011%\u00a0and\u00a0Erik Spoelstra (Miami Heat)\u00a0at\u00a08.9%.<\/p>\n

Ott also received 1% of the votes for most overrated as 100 votes were calculated.<\/p>\n

Washington Wizards<\/a> coach Brian Keefe was voted the most overrated at 22%.<\/p>\n

Suns guard Jordan Goodwin<\/a> received 0.7% of the votes for best defensive player as Wembanyama garnished a poll-best 41.1% of the votes.<\/p>\n

This poll had 151 total votes.<\/p>\n

Wembanyama\u00a0was the unanimous winner of this season\u2019s NBA Defensive Player of the\u00a0Year award.<\/p>\n
