The New York Knicks<\/a> secured a close 108-102 win over the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> in Game 2 of their second-round series, taking a 2-0 lead but suffering a major loss while pulling off the victory.<\/p>\n

With fewer than three minutes left for the end of the game, Knicks forward OG Anunoby<\/a> exited the game and did not return.<\/p>\n

Anunoby suffered the injury<\/a> on a missed dunk attempt. He landed awkwardly, grabbed the back of his leg, pretty much stopped moving shortly after, and ultimately signaled to the bench before being subbed out.<\/p>\n

He finished with 24 points, five rebounds, and four steals before exiting, having logged 37 minutes of play.<\/p>\n

Anunoby was not made available to media after the game, and head coach Mike Brown said<\/a> he had no immediate update on the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I haven\u2019t\u2014like I said, they haven\u2019t told me,\u201d Brown said. \u201cI just know that he left the game, so I was like, \u2018Deuce!\u2019 And I turned and looked, and [Anunoby] wasn\u2019t back. Nobody said he was back. So I have not talked to anybody yet, but he wasn\u2019t\u2014did he even come back on the bench? No. So yeah, I don’t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, things took a turn for the worse on Thursday afternoon as ESPN’s Shams Charania<\/a> reported that Anunoby has been diagnosed a right hamstring strain and will be day-to-day.<\/p>\n

Anunoby’s availability for the upcoming games of the series is now in question, with Game 3 scheduled for Friday and games continuing every other day.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the Game 2 win, multiple Knicks players acknowledged<\/a> the potential impact of OG’s absence in the second-round series and New York’s postseason run.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s one of the best two-way players in the league, and it\u2019s tough to replace that,\u201d Miles McBride said. \u201cYou don\u2019t replace it with one guy. Everybody\u2019s going to have to step up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Through eight postseason games, Anunoby is averaging 21.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game in 35.3 minutes of play. More impressive than anything, however, has been Anunoby’s shooting, with the wing currently boasting a sky-high 61.9 field-goal percentage and a 53.8 three-point percentage.<\/p>\n

The Knicks now head to Philadelphia with a 2-0 series lead and Game 3 scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n
