The arena, which <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/nba\/utah-jazz\/jazz-news-utah-making-major-name-change\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">changed its name back to the Delta Center in 2023<\/a>, opened in 1991.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the Delta Center is going under a massive renovation, and the owner of the Jazz and Mammoth, Ryan Smith, is <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RyanQualtrics\/status\/2052797110580576547?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">giving an update on the status of the renovations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe challenge was, hey, could you go into a building, and actually remodel the entire lower bowl and upper bowl, and not lose this amazing basketball experience, but maybe even improve it for the future. As well as making it so every single view is both good for hoops and for hockey,\u201d Smith said in his update. \u201cAnd that&#8217;s what we&#8217;ve done.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are plenty of challenges to making the arena perfect for everything. Beyond hosting the Jazz and Mammoth, the Delta Center also hosts concerts and the NCAA Basketball Tournaments. Still, the concern of trying to make a great experience for both hockey and basketball is difficult, as Jazz President Jim Olson pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHockey sightlines need to be spread out a lot further because the ice rink is much larger than a basketball court,\u201d Olson said.<\/p>\n<p>The center did go through renovations ahead of the move of the then Utah Hockey Club to the arena ahead of the 2024-25 season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the goal of maintaining this incredible fan experience that we have, as well as being home of two major franchises,\u201d Smith continued.<\/p>\n<p>Smith is clearly worried about maintaining the fan experience, which is the goal with this massive renovation.<\/p>\n<p>The Utah Jazz and Utah Mammoth share a home known now as the Delta Center.
