Then add a veteran role player at point guard with the handle and size to bring the ball up the court and play solid defense.<\/p>\n
I would fire Nuggets coach David Adelman, because anybody can take a Jokic-led team to 50-plus wins in the regular season.<\/p>\n

That wasted energy would be better spent on sending a message to refs about how Jokic gets mauled in the post. But what do I know? I\u2019ve only been chronicling the moves of the most successful NBA coaches since Adelman was a ball boy for his dad in Portland.<\/p>\n

Kiz: MPJ found happiness in the perfect role for him, as the leading scorer on one of the league\u2019s worst teams. The Nuggets, however, did force Porter to stand around and watch while the team ran that two-man game of Jokic and Murray into the ground. At its best, the Jokic-Murray combo is a thing of beauty. But Denver has loved the strategy to death, to the detriment of other offensive options when foes heighten their focus on Joker and Mal in the playoffs. I want Peyton Watson back on the team, but there\u2019s no reason to spend the money to retain him as a free agent if Adelman can\u2019t find ways to consistently put the ball in his hands.<\/p>\n
And today\u2019s parting shot takes umbrage with my opinion that Avs star Nathan MacKinnon was lucky to get away without punishment for slamming Matt Boldy into the boards in Game 2 of this playoff series between Colorado and Minnesota.<\/p>\n
Boldy was skiing parallel to the boards with possession of the puck. It was a shoulder-to-shoulder hit. Not a penalty. You\u2019re a superficial football reporter who has covered the Avalanche for 30 years. Stick to not talking about hockey 350 days a year, Kiz.<\/p>\n
