Isaiah Thomas and the Boston Celtics are together again.

Thomas reunites with his former coach and current president of basketball operations Brad Stevens.

“The King in the Fourth” played some of his best basketball under Stevens so it will be interesting to see how the 12 year NBA veteran takes to his new role with the Celtics.

The final pick of the 2011 draft by the Sacramento Kings, IT was quickly recognized for his ability to score despite his smaller stature.

Danny Ainge traded for Thomas during the Celtics 2014-15 season. Thomas provided some needed bench scoring down the stretch and played his way into the starting lineup the following season.

Thomas continued his offensive run the following season and made his first All-Star team. But it was the 2016-17 season where Isaiah Thomas became a Celtics star.

Led by Thomas, the Celtics made it back to the Eastern Conference Finals before losing to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. IT’s 28.9 points per game tied John Havlicek for third highest single season scoring leader in Celtics history. He made the All NBA 2nd Team and quickly became a fan favorite for his clutch fourth quarter performances.

Isaiah Thomas’ time with the Celtics ended when he was traded to Cleveland for Kyrie Irving. IT stayed on with the NBA for a number of years with his last stop coming in 2024 with the Phoenix Suns.

Even though the Celtics and IT never got their storybook ending, Thomas maintains nothing but gratitude for his time in Boston.
